I was approached by the Liverpool Tattoo Convention about making Star Wars cupcakes for their annual gala ball, and seeing as though cake and tattoos are my 2 favourite things to do I didn’t need to be asked twice. I jumped at the chance, and felt extremely lucky to of been approached.
The Liverpool Tattoo Convention is an annual event, which is held in the Adelphi Hotel. A prime location for the people of Liverpool and the hundreds of people who descend on the city for this event, close to Lime Street station and town with the added benefit of being able to book a hotel room without having to lug your cases around with you.
The event itself is run by Ant & Hazel Nichols who run and own the Design 4 Life tattoo studios located in the city. This year saw the Liverpool Tattoo Convention enter its 5th year, and I have to say it was the best one yet. A welcoming and friendly atmosphere filled with all the things I like, tattoos, music and burlesque. This is my social event of the year. If you’ve not been to a tattoo convention before I would highly recommend attending this one, granted you’ll have to wait a year, but it’s worth it.
Each year they have a theme, this year was Star Wars, hence being asked to make Star Wars Cupcakes.
The gala ball fell on the 4th of May, so in true Star Wars fashion I quickly knocked up this cake too:
I’d like to say a massive thank you to all those involved in making the Liverpool Tattoo Convention so awesome, I had a blast, but a special thank you in hiring me to make the cupcakes for the gala ball.
Here’s to next year.
