Flourishing

In late 2011 I took a risk and decided to put all my eggs in one basket, and embark on a job I had no experience in. A self taught cake decorator who started a business on a whim.

For the last three years I have worked alone from my home based kitchen and have built up a wonderful collection of clients who have championed by business and allowed me to have a successful small business. Over the last year it has become evident that my one pair of hands is no longer enough to meet the demand and I have increasingly found it a struggle to keep on top of the business and still maintain a happy work/life balance.

Over the past few months you might of noticed I’ve been a little bit quiet, there’s a good reason for that, I has become a we.

I’d like you to introduce you to my new business partner, Liz Cousins.

I have known Liz for a while now and upon meeting her it became apparent that her passion and dedication for Say It With Flours was almost as huge as mine. We began discussing the possibilities and after a few months of talking things over we made the decision to join forces, and a partnership was born. Liz is a welcome part of the business and I’m looking forward to working with her.

I no longer work from my home kitchen, we now work from a studio down by Speke Hall, which means that more orders can be taken on, and now we can deliver cake direct to your door, something I’ve not been able to offer in the past due to me never getting around to driving.

I would like to thank everybody that has ever recommended my business, who has shared it on their social networking sites and those who have ordered from me in the past. Many of you have become friends, and it’s been so cool to share my journey with you.
